Exciting News: Ian Harding is Releasing a Book of Essays!

On Pretty Little Liars Ian Harding plays Ezra Fitz, a former English teacher turned coffeehouse owner/novelist, and it appears life imitates art because the actor just revealed that he’s officially a published author. According to Entertainment Weekly, Ian has penned a collection of essays about one his greatest passions: birdwatching.

Yes, that’s right; when this talented blue-eyed fellow isn’t running lines with Lucy Hale, cooking with Shay Mitchell or bursting into song, he’s trekking through forests to catch glimpses of rare avian species. The memoir, appropriately titled Odd Birds, will contain entertaining anecdotes about working on the set of PLL, residing in Hollywood, and his frequent forays into nature with nothing but a pair of binoculars and sense of wonder.

“Yep. It’s real. I wrote something. So proud of this,” Ian excitedly announced in a recent Instagram post, unveiling his lovely book cover in the process. Check it out below:

Interestingly enough, when our Alloy Entertainment team asked Keegan Allen during a recent interview to share an obscure fun fact about his costar and close pal, he immediately commented on Ian’s obsession with ornithology. “I’m not joking. He’s a legit bird watcher,” dished Keegan, who released his own work of nonfiction — a beautiful photographic voyage into his world called — just over a year ago. “I know that sounds really boring and very aged, and it is. I’m just kidding, it’s a good hobby for him to have. And I’ve learned a lot about it.”

Congratulations to Ian Harding on such an incredible accomplishment!  We don’t know about you, but we’re we can’t wait to read all about Ian’s adventures as a birder and to learn more about his  fascinating pastime.
