Tis the season of giving, dolls, and there’s truly no better feeling than being able to show the your friends and family just how much you appreciate them. Whether it’s a thoughtful gesture, a generous gift, or a letter expressing your utmost gratitude, it’s always nice to shower the people who support you through and through with extra love and attention.
And it seems no one understands this better than Ashley Benson! The Pretty Little Liars actress enjoys giving back to the community — she’s been working with charitable non-profit organizations such as Feeding America’s Share a Meal program to help end childhood hunger — just as much as she does doting on the folks who brought her into this world: her mom and dad. In fact, rather than casually handing her parents a wish list full of coveted items one year, she decided to spoil them with an impromptu trip and some much-deserved pampering.
“My parents don’t get to spend a lot of time alone on vacation, so two years ago, I flew them to Hawaii and I got them this awesome hotel room,” she told Seventeen.com. “They went on a little helicopter ride. It was really special because they hadn’t spent a lot of time together in years to just relax and not worry about work or anything like that. That made me feel really good. I got to them every day on Facetime and see how happy they were.”
Ash then added, “I think it’s really important for anyone in a relationship or marriage to really take the time — even if it’s one day — to just spend time with your loved one and I really wanted to do that for them. So that was pretty great.”
Aw, such sweet sentiments! Not only does Ashley have her priorities in check, but it definitely sounds like she has a clear perspective on what really matters in life. Kudos to her parents for raising such an amazing, generous daughter!
On that note, as fun as it to open beautifully wrapped presents, it’s even more satisfying to put a smile on other people’s faces. What’s one way you’re spreading good cheer this holiday season? Tell us in a comment below!
